A Closer Look at The Journey Neighbourhood Centre

Everyone has a Journey in life. There is something extremely precious about those transformative moments along the way and the many coincidences, interactions, people and places that propel us into the right direction. Let’s take a closer look at one of the newest organizations that H.O.P.E. is supporting to see a great example of the many ways a generous donation has an impact in the places and areas in which we all live.

The Journey Neighbourhood Centre is a storefront outreach to a challenged community in Brampton.  They provide a wide variety of programs, events and services for and with the community.  They are a collaboration of North Bramalea United Church, Rapport Youth and Family Services, Regeneration Community Outreach and JET Mentoring Youth and Community Services.  But, most importantly they are in collaboration with the Ardglen/Orenda community.

The goal at The Journey is to transform our community.  Transformation can take many forms – physical, educational, spiritual and emotional.  Their programs and events are geared towards each of those elements.  Programs include: children’s afterschool programming such as a homework club, women’s programming, art classes, violin lessons, an Early Years program, teen programming, etc.

The mission statement most clearly summarizes their direction and methods:

The Journey is committed to bringing hope and transformation to the Ardglen/Orenda communities, walking alongside children, youth and families as they take positive steps in their lives.

This mission is realized through:

  • Relevant Programs
  • Transforming Properties
  • Advocating For Residents
